General Affairs Council, 23 May 2022

The Council will examine the draft conclusions of the special meeting of the European Council on 30-31 May 2022, and will hold a hearing on Hungary as part of the Article 7(1) TEU procedure.

Agriculture and Fisheries Council, 24 May 2022

EU agriculture ministers will meet in Brussels to discuss the spread of the highly pathogenic avian influenza and a strategic approach to the development of vaccination. Ministers will further exchange views on the situation of agricultural markets in view of the situation in Ukraine.

Economic and Financial Affairs Council, 24 May 2022

Economy and finance ministers will discuss the economic and financial consequences of the sanctions imposed on Russia after its unprovoked and unjustified military invasion in Ukraine. The Council is expected to adopt its position (general approach) on the revised European long-term investment funds (ELTIF) regulation.

EU leaders will discuss Ukraine, defence, energy, and food security.

General Affairs Council (Cohesion), 2 June 2022

EU ministers responsible for cohesion policy will discuss the alignment between common European objectives and the needs of local actors, and are expected to approve Council conclusions on the 8th Cohesion report “Cohesion in Europe towards 2050”.

Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council (Transport), 2 June 2022

The Council is expected to adopt its position (General Approach) on the transport components of the “Fit for 55” package (Alternative Fuel Infrastructure, RefuelEU Aviation and FuelEU Maritime Regulations), as well as on the Directives regarding the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) on road transport and the stability requirements for ro-ro passenger ships.

Foreign Affairs Council (Trade), 3 June 2022

Trade ministers will meet in Luxembourg to discuss the state of play of WTO reform and EU-US trade relations.

Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council (Telecommunications), 3 June 2022

Telecommunications ministers will discuss the state of play of legislative files linked to the EU’s digital transition (Artificial Intelligence Act, European Digital Identity Regulation, Data Act).
