UNGA77: EU wraps up a week of intense meetings on global issues

Today, the EU wraps up a week of diplomatic engagements at the highest level in New York on a wide range of global issues: Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and its global consequences, sustainable development and human rights, access to quality education, global health security, and climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell will accompany the President of the European Council Charles Michel, who will deliver a statement on behalf of the EU during the UN General Assembly at +/-10:30 EST. Throughout the day, he will hold several bilateral meetings. Yesterday, High Representative Borrell addressed the UN Security Council on behalf of the EU on maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine. He also hosted the members of the Gulf Cooperation Council for their traditional meeting held in the margins of the UNGA. You can read the full press release here. He also participated in the biannual meeting of the Ad-Hoc Liaison Committee for Palestine and in the traditional transatlantic dinner, which brings together 40 countries, the EU and NATO, hosted by the United States.
