Antitrust: Joint statement by the European competition authorities on the coronavirus crisis

Today, all competition authorities in the European Competition Network (the European Commission, the European Surveillance Authority, and the national competition authorities of the EU/EEA) are issuing a joint statement on how to apply the European competition rules during the crisis. United, the authorities recognise the social and economic impact of the crisis. Jointly, they underline that the competition rules are flexible enough to take into account changes in market circumstances such as these. Companies that need further guidance are encouraged to contact either the national competition authorities, the Commission or the EFTA Surveillance Authority for further guidance in individual cases. Please see here the full statement.
