President von der Leyen and Commissioner Simson visit Moldova to offer support with energy challenges

The visit will show the EU’s support for Moldova, which is one of the countries that has been hit the hardest by Russia’s unjustified war against Ukraine. President von der Leyen and Commissioner Simson will meet Maia Sandu, the President of Moldova and present new financial support and tools to help the country face the acute energy crisis caused by Gazprom’s sharp reduction of deliveries and Russia’s increased attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. After their meeting, the two Presidents will hold a press conference that will be broadcast on EbS.
