Backlash against women’s rights in Poland: press conference on MEPs’ findings

Robert Biedroń, Chair of the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee, will present the findings of a recent EP delegation to Poland that looked into women’s rights.

Four MEPs of the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee were in Warsaw from 2 to 4 November to learn more about women’s rights and sexual and reproductive health and rights in Poland, including the situation faced by women and girl refugees from Ukraine. They met with representatives of NGOs, several ministries, the Polish parliament and the Senate.

Mr Biedroń will present the main conclusions of the delegation report, to be released on 17 November. A representative of the Foundation for Women and Family Planning Federa, and Ms Jolanta Budzowska, lawyer of the family of Izabela Sajbor, the first known victim of the abortion ban in Poland, will also speak at the press conference.
