Are COP26 talks heading towards failure?

The UN COP26 climate conference in Glasgow is at its halfway point. World leaders have been debating ways to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees celcius. Pledges so far including ending deforestation by 2030, phasing out coal power and a fund to help developing nations. But many environmentalists say the commitments don’t go far enough. So, with less than a week to go, what’s needed to ensure COP26 doesn’t end in failure?
