At the 2020 Munich Security Conference, world leaders have laid out opposing views on the health of NATO and the western alliance. Earlier today US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo rejected claims that his country is backing away from its role as a global leader. Macron and Pompeo also disagreed over one of the main themes of this year’s conference, that the West is losing global influence.
