Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz is in India for two days of talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The aim of the trip is to deepen economic ties between the two countries and strengthen defense cooperation. This is Scholz’s first official visit to India since taking office in 2021. Making progress on a potential trade deal between the EU and India is also on the agenda, and both leaders have said they want to work together on climate action.
