Executive Vice-President Virkkunen and Commissioner Dombrovskis at the 2025 Brussels Economic Forum

Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, Henna Virkkunen, and Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification, Valdis Dombrovskis, will take part in the 2025 edition of the Brussels Economic Forum (BEF), which takes place tomorrow, 22 May, at the Square Convention Centre in Brussels.
For 25 years, the Forum has brought together high-level European and international policymakers, academics, civil society and business leaders to tackle key challenges and discuss policy priorities for the European economy. The occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Forum, under the theme “Navigating a Turbulent World: Securing Europe’s Economy” offers a chance to reflect on progress made and to discuss how Europe can secure its economy in a rapidly changing global landscape, addressing the current geopolitical developments.
Commissioner Dombrovskis will virtually open the Forum alongside Adam Posen, President of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Executive Vice-President Virkkunen will participate in the panel discussion “New World order: what place for Europe?”. Participants at this year’s Forum will also include, Minister of the Middle Class, Self-Employed and SMEs in Belgium Eléonore Simonet, CEO of Renault Group and Ampere Luca de Meo, President and CEO of Electrolux Group Yannick Fierling and Dean of Paris School of International Affairs Arancha González.
