On 26 and 27 September, Bratislava will host an informal meeting of the defence ministers of the EU’s 28 Member States. The key topic of the informal meeting, which will be chaired by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, is a discussion on the implementation of the defence aspects of the EU Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy. The ministers are also set to hold talks on cooperation between the European Union and NATO. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will also be in attendance. At the working lunch, the defence ministers will also talk about missions and operations of the Common Security and Defence Policy, particularly with respect to Libya and the Sahel region.
The press conference following the talks is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 27 September at 14.00 in the Press centre in Reduta, E. Suchoň Square 1, Bratislava. Slovak Defence Minister, Peter Gajdoš, will be in attendance.
