Migration: Vice-President Schinas met with Ministers ahead of the MED 5 Informal Ministerial Meeting

The Vice-President joined the Home Affairs ministers from the Med 5 Member States, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain, to discuss the New Pact on Migration and Asylum. The Commission will continue supporting the co-legislators in taking this important work forward. Vice-President Schinas said: “I was happy to the see the enthusiasm of the Mediterranean 5 States who are ready to engage constructively to find solutions that work for all. We are now at a stage of the negotiations where we have to move from expressing statements to finding concrete compromises.” The Vice-President’s statement is available on EbS.
