Vice-President Kristalina Georgieva will host a high-level conference “EU budget focused on results” on 22 September. The event will focus on ways to ensure that the EU budget is even better spent to the benefit of the citizens of Europe and beyond. The President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker will speak at the event, as well as the following Members of the College: Vice-President Šefčovič, in charge of the Energy Union, Commissioner Marianne Thyssen, responsible for Employment and Social Affairs, Commissioner Phil Hogan, in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development, Commissioner Corina Crețu,in charge of Regional Policy, and Commissioner Carlos Moedas, responsible for Research, Science and Innovation. Some of the keynote speakers include: Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, Federal Minister of Finance, Germany, Dr Mateusz Szczurek, Minister of Finance, Poland, Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance, Luxembourg, Mari Kiviniemi, and OECD Deputy Secretary-General.
