Press conference: simplified sustainability reporting and due diligence rules

Seeking to boost competitiveness and cut red tape, Parliament is due to vote on its negotiating position on simplified sustainability reporting and reduced due diligence rules for companies. MEPs want to reduce the pool of companies falling within the scope of the rules, ease sustainability reporting requirements and due diligence duties.
Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) rapporteur Jörgen Warborn (EPP, SE) will brief journalists following the plenary vote on 13 November 2025, and will answer questions about the next steps in the procedure.
