Salvatore De Meo is the Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs of the European Parliament. Born in Fondi, a small city close to Rome, before embarking on a political career Mr. De Meo obtained a degree in Law in 1994 at Sapienza University of Rome. He dedicated his life to his territory where he has been actively involved in politics since 2001, when he became councillor first, and then served as mayor of his hometown for 10 years. At the European Parliament, he is a Member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and holds the role of substitute Member in the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, and the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.
