Koen Rademaekers is the CEO of Trinomics and Chair of the Africa Circular Foundation. Prior to starting-up Trinomics, Koen was head of Ecorys’ Energy & Environment unit. He led more than 200 assignments for the European Commission and other national and international institutions, covering a variety of disciplines ranging from impact assessments, evaluations, financial feasibility studies and model-based analyses of policy options. He began his career as an assistant professor at the University of Brussels (teaching public finance & econometrics), followed by a position as head of the study department of a political party. He then became the chief economist of an international bank (BNP-Paribas-Fortis), followed by a position as the lead on finance, energy, environment and climate change at the cabinet of the Flemish Minister of Economics (in charge of the first Belgian National Allocation Plan). Finally, he took on the role as the director Investor Relations of the Group Electrabel-Suez (ENGIE today) and as the European energy buyer for all the plants of Arcelor-Mittal in Europa, before becoming active as a consultant (in 2007).
