Sirpa Pietikäinen is a Finnish member of the EPP in the European parliament since 2008. She is a former Finnish Minister of Environment (1991-1995). At the European parliament, Ms Pietikäinen is a member of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and a substitute member of the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee, and the Women’s Right and Gender Equality Committee. A graduate from the Helsinki School of Economics, Ms. Pietikäinen is active in several organizations. Her positions of trust include Chairmanship of GLOBE EU and the European Parliament’s Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals.
