Tilly Metz is MEP from Luxmbourg and a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy with focus on research on chronic and rare diseases; and the horizontal InvestEU Programme including its Research Fund and the EU Research Programme for the Single Market Programme. As substitute member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, she works for a fundamental reform of agricultural policy and strong European animal welfare standards as well as alternatives to animal research, a topic very close to her heart. Tilly Metz is also active in the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection. Before taking up her seat in the Parliament in July 2018, she was councilor in the city of Luxembourg. From 2005 to 2011 she was mayor of the municipality of Weiler-la-Tour in Luxembourg. Tilly Metz has been Vice-President of the Government’s High Council for people with disabilities since 2016 and has been working for the social inclusion of people with special needs for decades.
