Tomasic Zala

Zala Tomasic was born and raised in Škofja Loka, Slovenia, and later continued her education in Ljubljana before pursuing her studies in the United States at Grinnell College, where she graduated in Political Science and Economics with a nearly full scholarship. During her studies, she interned in the U.S. Senate for Senator Chuck Grassley and later gained experience in Brussels at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies and on a European Commission project. She completed a Master’s degree in International Relations at King’s College London and subsequently worked for the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs during Slovenia’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, serving at the Permanent Representation in Brussels. After returning to Slovenia to work in the National Assembly and as International Secretary of the Slovenian Democratic Youth, she was elected to the European Parliament as the youngest ever MEP from Slovenia. In the European Parliament, she serves on the Committees on Environment (ENVI), Internal Market (IMCO), and Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE).
