Closing Ceremony for the European Year for Development on 9 December in Luxembourg

The European Year for Development is coming to an end and a closing ceremony is being organised in Luxembourg on Wednesday, 9 December 2015 to mark the culmination of a successful campaign. High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini and Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica will attend the event. Other attendees are also expected to include Xavier Bettel (Prime Minister of Luxembourg), Lilianne Ploumen (Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of the Netherlands), Linda McAvan (DEVE Committee Chair/ European Parliament) and Marius Wanders (Ambassador of EYD2015 Civil Society Alliance). A Joint Declaration by the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council on the European Year for Development 2015 is expected to be endorsed at the closing ceremony which will take place at the Philarmonie du Luxembourg (“Petit auditoire”) 1, Place de l’Europe, L-1499 Luxembourg. For registration, applications have to be made online via the portal (by registering for the Informal meeting of Ministers for Development Cooperation).
