Executive Vice-President Vestager in the US to reinforce competition and digital policy cooperation and kick off the Clean Energy Incentives Dialogue

From 29 to 31 March, Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager will be in Washington, DC, where she will meet senior US officials and participate in the EU-US Joint Technology Competition Policy Dialogue, among other events. She will also co-chair together with Janet Yellen, Secretary of the Treasury, the first meeting of the Clean Energy Incentives Dialogue. Announced by President Ursula von der Leyen and President Joe Biden on 10 March, this Dialogue aims to coordinate EU and US approaches to avoid any disruptions in transatlantic trade that could arise from their respective incentives.

Today, Executive Vice-President Vestager meets with Gina Raimondo, Secretary of Commerce, and on Thursday, 30 March, she will meet with Arati Prabhakar, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. On the same day, she will deliver a keynote speech at the 2023 Summit for Democracy, organised by the Department of State, and will participate in the EU-US Joint Technology Competition Policy Dialogue.

On Friday 31 March, on top of her meeting with Secretary Yellen, Executive Vice-President Vestager will meet with Sangeeta Verma, Acting Chairperson of the Competition Commission of India. She will also speak at the Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association and will address the Atlantic Council on how Europe is responding to the current geopolitical moment and its economic challenges.
