Key debate on NATO summit. On Wednesday morning, in a debate with the Commission, MEPs will outline their expectations for the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague on 24-26 June 2025.
Fighting child sexual abuse. On Tuesday, MEPs will debate and vote on updating EU legislation on child sexual abuse crimes. The new law accounts for technological advances, improves victim support, and raises the maximum punishments for certain offences.
EU-Israel Association Agreement. On Tuesday, MEPs, Council, and Commission will discuss the launch of a review of the agreement that forms the basis of EU-Israel political and economic cooperation.
King Abdullah II of Jordan. On Tuesday at noon, the King of Jordan will address MEPs in a formal sitting.
Clean Industrial Deal. In a debate with the Commission on Wednesday and a vote on Thursday, MEPs are set to urge the EU to shift its industrial policy from strategic planning to action.
Air passenger rights revision. On Tuesday evening, MEPs will discuss recent developments in the process to revise air passenger rights. Parliament will vote on an update of the EU air passenger rights regulation in the coming months.
Freedom of assembly in Hungary. On Wednesday, MEPs will quiz the Commission on its stance on respect for European values in Hungary, in light of the government’s ban of the Budapest Pride march.
Illegally detained Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war. On Monday, MEPs will discuss the human cost of Russia’s war on Ukraine with representatives of the Polish Council presidency and the Commission. They will vote on a resolution during the 7-10 July plenary session.
Welfare of dogs and cats. On Thursday, MEPs will vote on the EU’s first ever rules on dog and cat welfare. The regulation addresses puppy mills and the illegal trade in pets. It also sets EU standards for breeding, housing, and handling dogs and cats in breeding establishments, pet shops, and shelters.
President’s diary. At the opening of the plenary session on Monday, President Metsola will make a statement on the 40th anniversary of the Schengen area agreement. On Tuesday, she will receive His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan ahead of his address to plenary. On Friday, she will travel to Łódź (Poland), where she will receive an Honoris Causa from Lodz University of Technology.
