Pierfrancesco Maran is a Member of the European Parliament representing the North-West Italy constituency, elected in 2024 for the Socialists and Democrats Group. He previously served as a City Councilor in Milan for 13 years, focusing on mobility, urban planning, and housing. In the European Parliament, he serves on the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL). He is also a member of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, the Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, and the Delegation for relations with the South Caucasus. Pierfrancesco Maran is Shadow Rapporteur for the legislative file on circularity requirements for vehicle design and the management of end-of-life vehicles and is also following closely the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles in the EU.
