Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis visits Singapore and Indonesia

Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade, will be in Singapore on 19 and 20 September as part of the EU’s efforts to step up its strategic engagement with the Indo-Pacific region. He will meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations S. Iswaran, to discuss deepening the EU’s strategic cooperation with Singapore, notably with regard to digital trade. On 20 and 21 September, Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis will be in Jakarta. He will meet with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan to discuss, among others, ongoing negotiations for the EU-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Finally, on 22 and 23 September, he will be in Bali to participate in the G20 Trade, Investment and Industry Ministerial Meeting sessions. These sessions will focus on global food, energy and economic challenges arising from Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, as well as perspectives for reform of the World Trade Organisation.
