President Juncker delivers the Europa-Rede in Berlin

On the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, President Juncker delivered a speech yesterday in Berlin. A symbol for overcoming divisions in Europe, the anniversary of the fall of the Wall is a historic date in European integration which President Juncker described as a day that “proved that people not only have to endure history, but that they themselves can make history“. Since 2010, Presidents of the European institutions have delivered the Europa-Rede on this anniversary, as part of a project by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Stiftung Berlin Foundation. President Juncker yesterday delivered the 7th edition of the Europa-Rede, where he spoke at length about Europe’s trade policy, security, defence policy and social Europe.
