Dr Adam McCarthy is Secretary General of the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA) where he leads the strategy and operations for the organisation. ETRMA represents the views of the tyre and rubber industry to European policy-makers. He started his career in the European Commission and later the European Parliament before moving to the private sector where he has worked in government affairs and public policy positions across a range of companies and sectors, mainly focussing on energy, environment and transport issues. Adam McCarthy holds a PhD in Comparative West European Politics from the University of Manchester (UK) and is a dual Belgian/British national.
